Ministry Pass is a sermon series & church graphics library created by pastors, for pastors. After a tough year filled with trials and turmoil, few things would help create stability and deepen faith as much as focusing on being thankful. For years, North Point Community Church has done a “Be Rich” campaign, where they challenge every single person to give at least $39.95 to benefit their community and global partners. The impact is incredible, with hundreds of churches now participating and millions of dollars going out in the name of Jesus. Many churches have proven the effectiveness of 40-day spiritual growth campaigns or 90-day tithe challenges. The shorter commitment makes people more open and churches more focused.
It literally means a spoken blessing. In other words, Jesus took the seven loaves and few fish, and blessed the lunch they were about to receive. He prayed to His Father, acknowledging that this meal had come from Him.
A Testimony Of Thankfulness
You know, Christianity is a deeply practical religion – it does not simply live in the realm of ideas. It seeks to make a difference to daily living. I think you will discover that thanksgiving is transformative.
Saying “thank you” to people makes them more likely to want a relationship with you — or to strengthen the relationship you already have.I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.I am grateful for my wife — the love of my life for nearly 40 years; I am grateful for my children, my family, and my loved ones. The story of the rich young ruler reveals his heart.A hope that will carry us through even our worst circumstances.Jesus went through Samaria on His way to Galilee, so that He might reach a woman and a city with the life-transforming and saving message of the gospel.
Now where the New King James says, “let us have grace,” the NIV says, “let us be thankful.” I want to point out to you why each of them is a correct translation. Because, in Greek, to have grace—and the key word is charis—is to say “thank you.” I don’t know whether any of you have any knowledge of modern Greek, but the standard Greek word for “thank you” is ? Which is directly related to charis, grace. So, what I want to point out to you is there’s a direct connection between grace and thankfulness.
Inspiring Psalms Of Thanksgiving
It becomes a sacrifice to offer praise and gospelflavour thanks. We may not feel like it; we may feel we just don’t have the time; or we are struggling — financially, physically, emotionally. One of our greatest challenges is to live with a grateful heart. May our lives be invested in doing all in the name of Jesus while giving thanks.
I may be censured for these opinions. The whole of the civilized world, I believe I may say, now expects of America that she should cherish the savage, and that she should liberate the slave. We know that the Lord God Omnipitent reigneth as glorious King, and that in unruffled serenity he sits at the helm of all affairs, and will accomplish His purposes.
T Century Progressive Christian Pastor
Unite in prayer and unite in praise and prove the Lord, if He will not pour out a blessing. Not for your own sakes only, but for the sake of those perishing around you, lets us wrestle and pray for a fuller time of the Spirit’s working than has ever been seen in Scotland yet. Do your praises equal your prayers?
But you don’t have access to Him unless you come with thanksgiving and praise. He’s laid that down and He’s not going to change it. I pass on from this topic–a topic which has, as it were, against my wishes, and perhaps against my friendships and my interests, burst out from my soul. But I would fain that on a day of thanksgiving like the present, all the inhabitants of this fair and widely spread land should rejoice.
